![]() Always use a box no larger than absolutely necessary as this saves on shipping costs and reduces the risk that your box may be damaged or opened during shipping. Be sure to securely seal all boxes and tape all openings as the shipper can consider packages leaking salt as hazardous and will destroy them accordingly. Ensure all ears, feet and tails are folded inside the bundle and not exposed as they can be damaged or broken during shipping. under heavier items such as moose, elk or beef as they can be damaged. When boxing hides do not pack delicate hides and furs like antelope, deer, etc. We will call you when your hide is ready to be picked up or shipped back to you! Shipping Instructions It is in our best interest that we return the hide back to you as soon as it is tanned and inquiries will only lengthen the process. Please refrain from calling us for an estimated time of when the hide will be completed. Hide tanning takes an estimated 6-9 months (longer if the hide is received in late winter, spring or summer). Hides sent in for leather tanning will be dyed our Gold Tan color only. ![]() Hides sent in for tanning without clarification on hair, tanning or leather will be default to leather tanning.īy shipping us a hide, even without a signed and dated invoice or packing slip, you are agreeing to the ‘conditions of acceptance’ found on the bottom of the invoice/packing slip. Please include this information as we will not try to track you down. Hides sent in without contact information will be considered as donations to us. If you do not hear from us after an inordinate amount of time, track your package and give us a call. Once we receive your hide, we will give you a courtesy call to let you know we have received it and obtain any necessary information. For best results send the hides in as soon as possible prior to harvest. We do accept custom tanned hides year round, however, wild game hides that we purchase from hunters, our last day receiving is March 31st of that hunting year. We suggest shipping only on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid your hide sitting in a warehouse over the weekend. We cannot be held responsible for hides lost or damaged during shipping to Miami Leather Company. Securely tape the box closed and take it directly to a shipper. If the box has extra space in it, fill the void with anything that will help insulate the hide and keep it from shifting around. Be sure that the estimated delivery date is no more than 3 business days for frozen skins. Always insure your shipments as we are not liable for items/orders lost or damaged during shipping. Be sure to clearly mark boxes with box numbers (1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3) when shipping orders in more than one box. When shipping orders in multiple boxes please include your name and contact information in each box (business card or equivalent) as well as one shipping form per order, not per box. Domestic hides such as beef, goats, horses, bison, etc. ![]() All wild animal hides or pelts must be tagged or they will be discarded or returned. Please print a shipping form and include all tags for all wild animal hides harvested. Do not ship your hides without calling first.
